Q: How many people can ride in your helicopter at one time?
A: We can carry three passengers per ride in our Robinson R-44. Unless you have children under the age of 2 we could possibly seat more than 3 customers. (see below)
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: There is no age restriction to ride in the helicopter. Although, if under the age of 2 years old, you may have your child sit on your lap for your flight. Please remember pricing is per person and a child will also be charged the same price, no matter their age.
Q: Do you have a weight restriction?
A: The helicopter does have a weight restriction and may vary from day to day. A lot of this has to do with the weather conditions due to heat and humidity. On a hot summer day we have to carry less weight. It also depends on how many riders you have flying; two riders vs. three. The helicopter manufacturer says we can carry up to 300 pounds per seat. But on a hot summer day this could be reduced to 265 or 275 per person.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: We strive to operate every day of the week, weather permitting. In the summer we operate during Adventure Pier hours.
Monday - Friday: 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
HOLIDAY HOURS: 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Q: Do you need to make reservations?
A: No, Anyone can come take a ride with us at any time at the back of Morey's Adventure Pier. For Private Tours from Cape May Airport, please contact us at (717) 676 8745 for reservations.
Q: What if the engine quits?!
A: This is by far one of the most frequently asked questions by people who do not have too much experience with helicopters. We have great news for you. A helicopter always maintains its ability to fly even in the event that the engine shuts off. Helicopter pilots are rigorously trained in full engine shutdowns (also known as autorotations) during their flight schooling and careers. All of our pilots have successfully performed numerous PRACTICE autorotations and you can be rest assured that we have never had any unexpected engine shut offs during any of our flights. For further information on our safety protocols, please visit our Safety Page!
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept all major credit cards for booking. For walk-ins, we accept CASH as well as major CREDIT cards.
Q: When do you recommend I arrive for a Private Tour?
A: We prefer at least 10-15 minutes prior from the time of your scheduled tour.
Q: Does the helicopter have air-condition or heat?
A: The helicopter we fly has AC for those hot summer nights. It also has heat for the cool spring and fall nights.
Q: Is sickness a common occurrence on helicopters?
A: Not at all. We do have sick bags that are accessible during the flight but the scenic tours are generally smooth and the turns are gradual. We have yet to have an issue with anyone getting sick on our flights.
Q: What are your policies on bringing a camera or video recording device?
A: We encourage it! In fact, if you plan on posting it to social media, please tag us in the post so we can relive your journey with us. #FlyEastCoast
Q: Do you have your own photo/video packages that you offer?
A: At the moment, we do not but this is definitely something that we are interested in pursuing. We are always looking into affordable options for our guests to be able to relive their moments in flight with us.
Q: Am I allowed to carry a bag onto the helicopter with me?
A: The short answer is no. (The exception being purses) We do allow items of medical necessity to be brought along but for safety's sake we generally only allow hand-held cameras or video recording devices. If you have any bags, your items are safe with our crew on the ground and can be retrieved as soon as you land.
Q: What options do you provide for single-riders?
A: We usually seek to pair up single riders with two other riders who are looking at taking the same tour. In the event that a guest prefers to ride solo, we must charge him or her the cost of two seats.
Q: Number one question? Should I fly during day or night?
A: Both flights have spectacular views and it comes down to what do you want see. Wildwood at night can look pretty awesome with all of the stars and city/pier lights. Of course with the day flight you will see the entire Southern Jersey Coast and possibly even wildlife including the Dolphins. (Mostly spotted between the hours of 12 PM and 5 PM)
